Really cool post, Random. Love that picture!
That is really cool. Random, you really come up with some unique and little-known facts.
hmmmm.... also, on a computer they cease to be colors... they become plain RGB codes
lol Random, hreat ditty!I guess it's down to which background we use, difficult to see white on white, and not so easy to see black in the space at night
meleah rebeccah: It's called illuson of opposites.Bowrag:That was certainly not my intention though :)HollyGL: Thanks a lot - I find colours and how we are able to see them really fascinating
JYankee: I was thinking of opposites and how in opposites, one is just a presence of something and the other the absence of it. Black and white seemed good vehiclesZakman:In computer graphics, a combination of just three lights is used to produce the colors on a screen, red, green, and blue [RGB]. Different systems for calculating colors are used. One of them is hue, saturation, and lightness. The hue of course is the color, eg red, brown, white, etc. The saturation is how muchof the other colors are present, and the lightness is how bright the color is. White and black have the same hue and saturation, the lightness is all that is different. QUASAR9: It's the background that gives most things context isn't it?
Oh my so true..n so well said..really almost like what i was trying..:)m so impressed by your observance amber..it always captivate my thoughts..gr888

never thought about it that way...
Nathalie and Mark: It is isn't it. All opposites just mean that one is the absence of other
Do you ever wonder if we see the same things when we see colors? I mean my blue may look like your gold. We just see them consistently so we can talk about them. I don't know. I guess I am just starting trouble. :)
opposites just mean that one is the absence of othervery well picked amber..absolutely what i meant..:)
I agree; good picture.
Random, I just know you'll love this one:King Arthur and the Witch
Jeff: I have always thought about this in fact in my 'mirror mirror' post I theorized about this. Imagine if everyone saw you differently and if they started seeing you differently after they got to know you as well. Maybe some years down the road there'll be research on this and we would get to read about it one of Quasar9's blogs!Dream Catcher: ThanksJean Luc Picard: Thanks - the picture isn't mine though [you do mean the picture on the post right?]Quasar9: I totally did ;)
Yes, technology has it's own little tricks for replicating colour. There's also a deeper meaning to all of this and I will put my finger on it soon enough.
The meaning is what inspired this post
