Would you rather be Happy or Right??

I WOULD RATHER BE HAPPY THAN RIGHT…

...THE THING IS…

...I DON’T THINK I CAN BE HAPPY WITHOUT BEING RIGHT ;-D

....and you???

Hmmm...if push comes to shove, I'd prefer happiness than being right, I guess...but of course it's MUCH better to be happy AND right HA HA HA HA HA HA...

But being right is a relative thing, as well. What's right for someone may not be right for someone else. There are so many different things we may not know about a person's life, so it's hard to tell. It's easier to tell what's right for me only, I guess. Hmmm...but when we're really confused and tired and stressed out, do we REALLY know what's right for us? HA HA HA HA...

Now I'm going in circles he he he...

Knowing I'm always right makes me happy.

Happy and right what a tempting combination.
For me it is terrible not being right - I have a tendency to be a 'know-it-all'. Of course there are some people whose intellect I admire and look up to it and with them I am totally accepting. And with others I am totally snooty

Greg:
Ahh you're making me so envious...

lol Random,
I think we've all been there
and some of us still 'are'

Mind you I don't mind being wrong sometimes, makes a nice change - lol!

QUASAR9 said...

here's wishing you and your close ones much merry making and all the best for the festive season

Blur Ting said...

Haha, that's something I have not thought of. I guess it doesn't take alot to make me happy :-)

Hope you are well. Good to see you snooping around again!

I am with you on this one. I can be a bit of a perfectionist. I hate it when I am wrong. :o)

It is good to see your smiling face back. Have a wonderful holiday and a new year of peace and happiness.

Hugs,
Titania

As Greg said, I would rather be happy because I can achieve happiness from knowing I'm right.

You said it! Hoping you're having the best Holiday Season!

Well, I say if you're happy you're right! With happiness being the state of mind, who cares if you're "right or wrong"... You're happy!

Happy, happy holidays to you, Amber! xoxo

p.s. I had to chuckle (lovingly) when I read Greg's comment. :D

I wouldn't mind being wrong once in a while. From the comments here, I can see no one chooses Right over Happy - its either Happy or Right & Happy! :-)

Wish you and your loved ones a Very Happy New Year!

QUASAR9:

Merry Christmas

Blur Ting:
That's the way it should be - it shouldn't take a lot to make anyone happy. I think it's all the traveling you do that does the trick and of course your family.
Merry Christmas

Titania Starlight:
Thanks:) Hope your arm's better now.
Merry Christmas

Ricardo:
But sometimes you can be right and being right you make certain decisions or come to certain conclusions that make you anything but happy.
Merry Christmas

JYankee:
Merry Christmas to you as well!

Jean-Luc Picard:
And Merry Christmas to you captain....

HollyGL:.
Hey Steph - so GREAT to hear from you. I know what you are saying but sometimes you just can't let go and want to poke and prod and analyze your happiness and then you're screwed
I had a chuckle too hope you have a
Merry Christmas

meleah rebeccah:
My problem is that I can take being wrong with a only very few people. With the rest I have a huge chip on my shoulder

It's cool not to mind being wrong - then you can learn

lol thats my thinking exactly!

I know that I am right in being happy!

Bobby Revell said...

Hi Amber!!! I know this sounds crazy, but I love being wrong sometimes...or proved wrong. It is then that I learn a big lesson.

I would MUCH rather be happy than right mostly because I have experienced very little happiness in my life. I have worked very hard changing my attitude about happiness. Some people think happiness is a choice and I agree that's true in many cases.

Fantasy Writer Guy said...

Marvelous question. To me, it means, Would I rather assume that I'm happy because I've achieved what we're told equals happiness -- or would I rather face the truth of my existence.

I know that there is tremendous peace and joy in choosing the latter but to fully choose that path, abandoning the other, is perhaps the most difficult challenge in the entire realm of human reality.

I sense that to succeed, is to become a saint.

Oh yeah, I'm so happy to be proved wrong all the time, cuz it saves me the trouble of having to prove I was right.

Anonymous said...

Happy and right...they always come together. That is my opinion.

Jacques Pierre said...

Hi Amber. I wud luv 2 be both, happy & right. If dat doesn't happen, I'd rather be happy in my own way ;)

Happy New Year. Wishing you Lots of Joy, Happiness, Health, Wealth and Love !

Q What is the capital of England?

Yes correct!
Now breathe in the happiness that comes from being right!

Happy New Year, Amber! May the coming year be better for you. Bless you and your family!!! ;-D

I'm afraid I am going to have to disqualify myself. I don't know what it is like to NOT be right.

But then again, I know what is like to not be happy so there you go! ;)

Anonymous said...

It's nice to be happy and right. It takes two to tango.

Anonymous said...

Happy New Year, Amber!! May 2008 bring you and yours much health and happiness. ...and a realization that you are right 99.999% of the time. ;) xoxo

By the way, I'm ALWAYS right. But I still get sad from time to time.

I am so glad I accidentally came across this blog...LOVING IT...

Being right: I try not to open my mouth unless I know what I am talking about...thus making me a rather quite individual LOL...

But..hmmm..am I happy? I have to think on that...I do know that some co-workers get frustrated with me for "always being right"...little do they know...I am usually wrong...just wise enough to keep that flaw to myself :-)...I guess this perception by co-workers does NOT contribute to my happiness...hmmmm

Thank you so much – it is always a pleasure when you stop by…Happy New Year.

Loz :
To you too and I have been quite an irregular blogging buddy

Meleah Rebeccah:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you darling Meleah. This year’s resolution is to be more regular with my blogging and not be so lazy.

somewhere joe:
Actually now that you put it this way I can remember a couple of times that being wrong has been quite a relief to me.

Mariuca:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too, sweet Mariuca!

Jay Cam:
Great minds think alike!

tobeme:
I love all the answers they are so creative!

Bobby:
I think all of us make an unconscious decision at some point in our life. Some decide to be right at all costs and for some being happy is the only goal.

Fantasy Writer Guy:
Thanks but I can’t take credit for it. Douglas Adam asked it before and before him in some form or the other countless other great minds.
I wonder if they have to be mutually exclusive though – and if there is a possibility that we can convince ourselves that being right no matter how painful is a sort of happiness.

Zakman:
What a creative perspective :)

Northern Cyprus:
Hey – welcome and a happy New Year

HollyGL:
Dearest Stephanie. Hope this year is a blast for you as well. And you are both right and happy

B:
Nothing at all – and sometimes welcome especially if you reached a painful conclusion which you later realize was actually wrong.

QUASAR9:
Hey. Thank you so much for being such a great blogging friend and your intelligent and lovely comments over the last year.

The Real Mother Hen:..
I LOVE your sense of humor
If we weren’t sad sometimes we wouldn’t value happiness would we?

blue:
Thank you so much.
My problem is that sometimes my mouth doesn’t work at all and other times it works overtime and I say much more than I should have.:)
Happiness is in enjoying the moments to their fullest

One Wacky Mom:
Thank you and a very Happy New Year to you.

John:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
By the way… the feeling is mutual
