Why I love Blogging

I was thinking about what an amazing experience this has been. I never thought when I first started, that blogging would become such an important part of my life and would be so instrumental in teaching me to be aware of me, of other people and my relation in respect to them.

Without thinking about it consciously, I found myself imbibing the things learnt from blogging, the lessons others generously taught me by sharing their stories and opening their hearts. I learnt that sometimes we have to make the first move and initiate a conversation, and that perhaps the other person is just as shy as we are.

Man is a social animal and he does best in interaction with others he can’t be an island. But for those of us who cannot be as socially accomplished as others, blogging is such a blessing. Because here every voice is translated into words and the distraction of a physical self is not there. It’s you and your reader in an intimate bond of focused intensity on what you are saying.

Of course sometimes it’s easier to be a touched up version of yourself while writing and edit your flaws and mute them into the background and you always have the time lag to put yourself in order.

But this freedom to be who you are or who you want to be is liberating and is in most cases treated with responsibility and truth.

I have read in many blogs questions and doubts about the friendships formed here but to that I would say that’s a lot like any friendship anywhere. Here we share our innermost secrets and in the real world we share a beer.

The one thing that you learn is that no matter what you have felt and what you have gone through you are not alone someone else has been through the same if not worse and when you see them dealing with it with grace you are tempted to do so as well.

This post was inspired by getting a lovely award from The Twisted Sisters whose blog is unique… it’s funny, it's sad at times, it’s honest and brave and I want to say I love your Blog!

In turn I present this award to EVERYONE on my blog roll. Some are very new additions which I recently discovered and others are blogs from when I started...
I love all your blogs that's why I visit everyday!

Thank you for being a part of my life

CONGRATULATIONS, Amber!!! I also LOVE your blog. ;-D

And I heartily agree with everything you say about blogging. I also never thought it could be SO therapeutic and rewarding. I have only one friend here that I don't meet regularly, but that doesn't matter 'coz I feel that through blogging I have gained SO MANY friends. ;-D My life couldn't be fuller and more complete than this. ;-D

Hey Amel I love yours too and am adding it to my roll and the award list. Your photography is to die for. Every time I see berries I remember your gorgeous photography. Sorry for the remiss

Congrats! You know... I feel exactly the SAME way... I NEVER thought anyone would be interested in what I had to say.. and on the other hand.. I never thought there could be so many unique and interesting people out there! Here's to a blogging future for the both of us! Cheers!

Awww Thank you thank you Amber...

As I have told a few of the ladies I read regularly...Your blog and your words I find myself drawn in...

Blogging has presented, for me anyways, a community of non judgments...or at least with enough class to express them without lighting any fires. I never once thought anyone would care and then I learned how my own quirky silly thoughts meant something to someone. And if they can help or touch just once person, then it is all good, in my little world.

Thanks for being here!

Jyankee: It's been truly great. An expansion of the mind and the soul

Jo{d}i: Every time I read your posts it's like scary real because I have been through those feelings myself and it feels like I wrote them myself... except you write much better than I do!

now that is the kind of viral list i WANT to be on... thank you random... i luv you too!!!!!!!

QUASAR9 said...

Hi Random, thanks for the mention
Yep, the good thing about blogging is that one can open oneself and discuss things one might otherwise not. Equaly one receives replies and comments one might not receive face to face. It is a form of interaction which enables us to interact from behind the scene in a virtual world, almost like a virtual OBE

Congrats on you blog love award. I enjoy your blog also. You are a blogger friend whom I look forward to visiting with. Great post. It really spoke to me as I am a bit picky in my real world far as friends go. Maybe it is a trust issue or maybe because we wear too many masks with our physical relationships. I think blogging is one of those technical advnaces in cyber world that is positive. It has drawn a world of people together in a new form of relationship.

I have found so many new and wonderful friends and you are one of them. :o)

Thank you Amber. I can honestly say I am so very happy to have met you and I find myself stopping by your site at least a few times each day to read, comment, and read more of the comments others leave behind. I love the way you share your perspective and I love how involved you are in what you blog about and comment on at my site. You are such a welcome friend in my life. I, for one, feel friendships made over the net are just as viable and strong as those elsewhere. It may have a lot to do with the kind of person I am, but it must also have something to do with the hearts of humanity. We are connected always, in ways unknown and unseen, so how hard is it to imagine meeting through this medium? Congrats on your latest award, you have an incredible blogsite that is a joy to visit.
I look forward to our continuing blogship ;)

Amber, Congratulations and thank you. You were one of my very first blogging buddies, and I absolutely consider you a friend.

You are always so quick to compliment the rest of us on our writing, but yours is SO wonderfull as well. It has that rare combination of intellect, heart, and sophistication all rolled into one.

I am indeed grateful for your presence in my world - blogging or otherwise! xoxo

Beautiful post Amber...
I think the reason I am attracted to so many different types of blogs is because they each fulfill a need inside me. You have your thinkers, insanely funny, deep, mysterious, peaceful, ordinary and so forth. It's like you have so many parts to your personality and today I may need to connect with someone peaceful and tomorrow I may need the deep thoughtful type. I appreciate each and every blog I visit and value the connections and the friendships. And at the risk of really sounding mushy and deranged... if a blogger is sick or goes missing - I actually do worry a little and go check in on them. Yep. I'm Crazy!

You have been tagged for The Personal Development List. (See my site for details), I would love for you to participate.

What a very cool post, Amber - everything you said is so true. I always smile at how our perceptions of other bloggers sometimes differ from the way they perceive themselves. You apparently see your self as not terribly outgoing, yet in your blog you are open, comfortable, and sharing - not to mention obviously intelligent! I always learn something here, you write well! Blogging has changed many lives, we now see ourselves as part of a larger community instead of isolated misfits. :-) You so deserve this award, I love your blog too, and will be passing this award around to friends of mine. Sharing a little love is always a good thing! :-)

Thanks and I love the unique questions you have on yours [especially the recent one where we had to change movie titles to ones they would have had, if they were made on a shoestring budget] and the story lines are too cool

Hi Amber,
Congrats on your award. Well deserved! I've written many posts on why I love blogging. All I can say is that people who knock it haven't tried it. It is one of the most enriching experiences I have had and I have met the most eloquent people who have a knack for connecting to the Soul.

Hats off to all bloggers. Well done!

"... that’s a lot like any friendship anywhere. Here we share our innermost secrets..."

So true... here, some of us might discover a means to hammer out our thoughts incognito for the heck of wanting to do that, or for just a release of unbroken tears.

The anonymity of the Web lets us speak blatant truth disguised as blogging.

On the flip side, if I were to sit with friends over coffee, I'd probably say, "Sam is so stupid..."

Unknown said...

Random thank you so much for sharing the love! I really have enjoyed reading your blog and discussing our thoughts through our blogs. I am really astounded by how many people I've come to know from around the world and how much we all have in common. I never thought it would become what it is now and I'm glad it's turning out the same for you as well. Thank you for your blog and taking the time to read mine.

Hey so glad to have you back. The anonymity, the lack of judgment, the control over what we can chose to respond to or ignore. The choice to speak and laugh and grieve are all exhilarating.
By the way, I don’t think Sam is stupid…not at all

Ricardo:
I get really happy and excited at the discovery of a blog I like, a blog that gives me a new perspective, makes me think and look at things in a new way. And your blog was one such blog.

the domestic minx:
And you know how I feel about yours. The way you write is magic. Seriously every time you weave that world you create I’m spellbound. It’s truly such a heady pleasure to visit your blog, your boudoir, your exquisite world for each everyone of your readers!
