A little Prayer

Hi all... will be be away for a couple of days...Dad's bypass is on the 29th... so going home. He'll be admitted on the 28th - which is his birthday and that really sucks...
Please pray everything goes okay. My dad's someone I have never seen weak.. so this is beyond difficult for me...
At home everyone sees me as the strong one maybe even a little 'cold' but when it comes to dad all defenses are down... and it's terrible...
I have a huge family with lots of aunts and uncles. They all like to bond in times such as this... which is of course really good... but I'm not used to people as I always was a little antisocial, hung out with a select group of friends... so I'm clueless when it comes to interacting with huge groups of relative in times of personal pain... they expect you to share what you are going through with them...and I don't like others to see my tears.....its probably the only time when being with other people is as if not more difficult than being alone
Anyway all that's secondary...as this is not about me... its about dad!!
So please say a little prayer...

hey Random! I can understand your feelings! But guess what ... it's all for your dad's good!!!

That's one great step he's taking towards a healthy and happy life! That's the absolutely positive thing to do! The pangs you're feeling are just but human and quite natural!

Actually, I'd be worried for you if you didn't feel nervous.... :)

And of course my little prayer will be there for your dad. I trust my prayers and I trust God's kindness. Everything will be just fine.

Try and see if you can stay in touch in the meantime... you know that we're a bit anxious too!

Lord, I pray that You would be with Random's dad, that he would fully and quickly recover, that he would be stronger than before the operation and that you would give him many more good years. I pray also that Random would be strengthened in her inner woman to know You are with her and that You will help her through this time at home with family. In Jesus name, amen.

Of course, you and your dad are fully in my prayers.

I also pray that when your family comes together for your dad, that you don't see them as "others" that you have to muster some kind of conversation, but instead, you see them as small pieces of yourself focusing on the love and need of your father.

i have to agree with zak.. now a days they do bypasses, angioplasties, place stents, etc. to improve the quality of life ,, as a preventive measure...for healthy patients.... i know it is difficult... but i am confidant that it will be fine,, and your dad will be better than ever so fast he will amaze you!!!!!!

I agree with Titania about holding a visualization of your dad living a healthy, happy life after the surgery.

Paisley is right, too. Nowadays, these procedures are more a preemptive measure so that the life will be led longer and more fully.

Finally, of course I will keep you and your dad in my thoughts and prayers. Remember to honor who you are during this time, and do what feels most natural to you to get through it. Your dad is going to be better and healthier than ever when all is said and done!

Random, You once said maybe we were sisters in another life. I couldn't agree more! All the things you've said in your last two posts echo all of my own thoughts and feelings. I too had a very special place in my heart for my Dad, he was so strong, he was my hero! To see him weak and vulnerable, tore me up inside. I agree with Zakman and paisley though, your Dad will come through this just fine! I will add my prayers to the list for good measure and know that our thoughts are with you. (Twisted Sister)

Here's to hoping it went well. It may not be "about you," but it's a tough experience for everyone who loves him.

Hi, RM!

I know what you must be going through.
I hope your dad is recovering well from the surgery and, of course, he will be in my prayers.
All the best for your dad and you and accept a respectful cheer-up-kiss through cyberspace.

Ye bet I'll say one. I hope everything works out for the best and your father will return A-OK. This is a very trying time for you as well but I'm glad you and your father will amongst family. With that, you can conquer almost anything.
